Physical characteristics
Size:16 miles tall and 374 miles in diameter. Roughly the size of Arizona.
Distance from the Sun: About 141,600,000 miles
Temperature: Winter= -195*F Summer=70*F
Composition: Talc powder, Basalt, And Mud
Pressure: 600 pascals (0.087 psi)
Gravity: 3.711 m/s2
Atmosphere: 95.3% Carbon Dioxide and 4.7% Nitrogen
Other: Mars' atmosphere is really thin. It's about 100x less dense then Earth's atmosphere.
Why should we visit Olympus Mons?
- We could compete in extreme sports like down hill biking and skiing/snowboarding also bungie jumping into the Caldera at the top of the volcano, make a lake out of the caldera, and go four wheeling in the deserts of Mars, and lastly go climbing on the rock glaciers.
- We could even make a small city in the lava chamber because it's completely empty.
What Will We Need To Survive?
- We will need suits that will protect us from radiation.
- We'll need oxygen tanks or because we cant adapt to the atmosphere.
- We are going to need a rocket shuttle to bring us there and possibly back.
